The Charlotte 49ers

“FORTY” and “NINER” chants echo through the stands on gameday. The 49er’s 9,105 seat arena holds highlights of the student experience for many current students and alums.Charlotte students have free admission to all athletic events and power the energy that rises to the rafters.

The ever-expanding Jerry Richardson Stadium, a 15,000-seat facility, houses the 49ers football program. The Charlotte 49ers are a dynamite team cheered on in the American Athletic Conference by the dedicated Niner Nation fanbase. 

A crown jewel on the Charlotte campus, the stadium has played host to all Charlotte 49ers Baseball home contests as well as the North Carolina State Games, multiple high school championships and hosted the 2013 Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Tournament.

Affectionately known as “The Sue,” Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium, is home to the Charlotte 49ers softball program. A powerhouse in NCAA Division I, the Charlotte 49ers softball program showcases top-tier talent and embodies the University’s winning spirit.

The Irwin Belk Track and Field Center is a top-tier facility that fuels the Charlotte 49ers’ drive for excellence. The perfect stage for athletes to break records and elevate their performance, it is the main competition venue for the 49ers track and field and soccer programs.

Home pitch for both Men's and Women's Soccer teams, Transamerica Field Is the cornerstone of the University’s strong soccer tradition.

The Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex is a state-of-the-art facility that serves as the home for Charlotte’s Men’s and Women’s tennis teams. 12 Lighted courts round out the premier complex for collegiate tennis in the Charlotte area.

Just five minutes from campus at the Rocky River Golf Club, the Stubblefield Golf Center trains the nationally-recognized Men’s Golf Team. With consistent NCAA tournament appearances, the 49ers are considered one of the top programs in the country.
